Christmas Drabbles!

OPTIONS! Pick (at least) two character(s); highly suggested is one of yours & mine, but others are acceptable too, including just one character if you'd like!
My characters are Marco & Smoker of One Piece
Fujiko of Lupin III
But any Whitebeard pirates can be done, almost all marines, or One Piece gen, ditto Lupin III, and crack for almost all fandoms, but if I don't know the fandom, it'll be based on your RP character.

Then you may pick a genre of the following (optional):
Fantasy/Fairy Tale
Crack
Adventure
Crime/Mystery/Drama
Alternate Universe
Comedy! (Might be crack-like)
Fluff!
Angst/Horror/Dark

Then a prompt. It can be anything from a random behind the scenes moment, to random headcanon, or you can just use the random word generator to get a random word and use that!

Drabbles will be anywhere between 3 sentences and a couple hundred words, I'll generally be aiming at not going overboard because ahahaha >> I do that. MERRY CHRISTMAS!! / HAPPY HANNUKAH / HAPPY NEW YEAR / ENJOY ALL THE HOLIDAYS EVER AND SUCH :D

"What's your favorite book?" Robin asked as she paused to look up from the now finished book. Marco was torn between disappointment at the book no longer continuing and a vague sense of accomplishment for finally finishing it, even if the raven-haired woman had done most of the work, all he did was provide the light and company.

"I have a few," he admitted quietly, "Picking just one is hard, eh?" Robin nodded her head. She could understand that, with all the books in the universe, picking a favorite was nearly impossible sometimes. But Marco carrined on, "Moby Dick, of course, but that's more my father's favorite." Not to say that Marco didn't also love it, a tale of sailing, the ocean, whales, and vengeance? What wasn't to love? But he had a few others he was fond of.

The phoenix pirate left his arm glowing with blue flames, even though the need for light was gone, and it would probably just draw nocturnal attention by fairies or any of the villagers up to mischeif, but it was more comfortable this way, and while his flames couldn't burn, they could shield off the bitter cold by strangely absorbing it, and it was for more than just his own sake. "I also like Treasure Island," he gave a small secretive grin and explained, "I like to think of it as about Silvers Rayleigh and Benn Beckman, even though they don't have much in common with the characters."

Robin chuckled at that, "Rayleigh as Long-John?"

Marco grinned happily, "Aye. You've read it then? I swear if he lost a leg and gained a pirate..."

"Maybe you should improvise and perch on his shoulder as a pet," Robin tapped a finger to her chin deviously, "Wait, which one was Benn?"

"Ben Gunn," Marco answered simply as he kept an ear out in the darkness for signs of trouble, "They're not really alike, but Beckman has the big rifle so it reminds me of it. That and he spells Ben with two 'n's, just like Gunn is spelled."

"Mm-hm, makes sense to me," Robin mused aloud, "And I take it Basil Hawkins is Jim Hawkins?"

Marco paused and tilted his head, "Who's Basil Hawkins?"

"One of the Supernova rookies, I thought you keep on top of these things," Robin didn't stop walking even though Marco had, she just expected him to catch up to her.

He did of course, scrambling along to make up for lost time. "Sometimes, just the ones that might be a threat, but I was a little... busy."

Right, the War at Marineford. What else? "I believe he was last sighted at Foodvalten, one of your territories, ne?"

Marco grunted as though punched and frowned. Last he heard, Brownbeard was there, he'd missed news about someone even stronger? "It is," he nodded, blue eyes looking distant, "I'll have to try to remember that."

They couldn't remember things upon going home, or at least, no one had yet, but Robin didn't point that out. Marco already knew. "So any other favorites? You only listed two so far," she prodded gently, giving him an open subject change.

Luckily, Marco was easy to distract from depressing thoughts. It seemed he rarely had much inclination to spend time on them unless he had to, and he cheerfully seized on the opportunity. "The Princess Bride is another, oh and have you ever read the Legend of Wano Island?"

Robin was surprised, "No I haven't."

Marco beamed, "Oh man, let me tell you all about it. It's about how the dragons first came to try to settle there."

The female pirate smiled softly as she watched Marco animatedly try to tell her the legend straight from memory. Her shift would usually be over by now, but there didn't seem to be much reason to stop just yet.
