I, Christine Coutinho, hereby promise that if at some point in the future I have access to a time travlling mechanism where I can in fact pick the place, time, etc. and reach the past with the ability to interact with "past people" without endangerin myself, others, the entire space-time continuum, and I am in fact alive when the machine is created will be at the MIT, Time Traveller's Convention, May 7th, 2005 between the times of 8pm and 10pm, possibly more if I can wrangle it. I will also be speaking to Sarah Rich who currently (as of May 3rd, 2005) goes to MIT and will be attending the convention, wearing her glasses, possibly footie pajamas (as there will be a sleepover afterwards) and possibly her maroon fleece with Westboro written on it. I myself, will be wearing something with Tigger on it or else something with a large, easily veiwable CC on it so that she can recognize me. I will also bring, should I have access to it, again, without endangering myself, others, or the entire space-time continuum and provided I will actually be able to react with this time period's people: a scientist who can explain to and help the MITers how to make a time machine; proof that I am in fact from a future time period as well as anything that can possibly help our current times. Especially including but not limited to; cures for extreme illness such as AIDs, CFIDS etc (and directions/guidance/scientests on how to continue producing them) and anything that can prevent/protect/stop nuclear bombs, chemical attacks, all explosives etc.
I will also be meeting up with Sarah and letting her know whether I do make it as a published author (and either way I do want to know) as well as any other details I feel necessary to tell her and/or my past (current) self including details about marriage, my future career goals, whether I get better from CFS or simply continue on WITH it or anything I may need to warn people about from terrorist attacks; world dictators, evil presidents who then become dictators etc. If I have at all the opportunity I will be bringing not only enough CFS cures and the availability for scientists to study/reproduce them but also enough to cure, myself, my father, and my brother but also possibly one for my father to study and be able to help WITH reproducing the cure. And if it is not a one time pill but an every day treatment I will make sure not only to bring enough to have them reproduced but I will set up a plan to ensure that me and my family are covered so that we do not have to worry about buying the cure/treatment and/or running out. I will also see to finding something if at all possible to help my cousin Jay and his disability should any exist.
Other inventions I would like to have brought back in time/given to Sarah to guard or duplicate etc: The best candy in the world that I'm not allergic to, a duplication machine that can possibly duplicate the aforementioned candy and medicines for my family's and Sarah's personal use, a duplication machine for other MITers to replicate and thus use to help cure the world with medicines etc, a teleporting device and copies of the system and how it works that more or less eliminates the needs for driving as well car gasonline/oil (as well as making traveling as fast as possible) and at least one machine to be given to Sarah's care (if created of course) that gives me an edge/help in directing/producing movies and/or writing and if at all possible; a fantastic-looking bathing suit that actually fits my current size (32DD chest, skinny waist, and the lack of a butt) for Sarah to give to me when she gets to Westboro. :D Anything else I will simply use my future wisdom and general judgement on.
Should time travel at some point be out-lawed by a future dictatorship who in no way wants the world going back in time and stopping him, not only will I be part of the future rebellion (I assume at least... provided again, I'm not dead) but I will strive to find someone with the knowledge/general ideas how to create a time machine safely without endangering the world and I will go back to the date May 7th and make a warning available there; however discreetly/vocal I may need to be about it, as well as bringing whatever else I need to.
Also, if it doesn't make the world implode and isn't illegal and immoral, I'll bring to Sarah to give to myself (or not, depending how my own future judgement goes) a copy of my own book (either Pen4 and its final edits so that I know how to edit ahead of time right here and now) as well as any tips on how I get that book published. I will try not to give myself the immoral edge of merely bringing all my books (should they exist) so that my current self could just copy them because I have the deep-seated feeling that other than POSSIBLY the first book of Pen4 and it's final edits (and even then only possibly) it would be immoral and possibly even ruin my life in ways I can only begin to imagine just now. I will however try to let my current self know through Sarah whether I do become a writer and anything else I may need to look out for.
I will not bring any information about stocks, money things and so related unless it can help the world without in any way hurting ANYONE else in the process. I also make it my goal that should anyone else be striving to do something that could endanger many people or possibly disrupt the balance of life or the entire world economy that I will do everything in my power to stop them, including enlisting all the help I can.
I may also drag along several of my future friends, provided it does not endanger their future or past selves just for fun and perhaps for many other reasons.
Under the following circumstances:
1) Should time travel only be possible if you were not alive in the period you are travelling to; I shall send someone not yet born in the year 2005 in my place, wearing a Tigger shirt, and/or something that says CC and with the intentions of doing all the things I myself would have done if I could go and with the intentions and goal to seek out Sarah as well.
a) Should time travel during a period in which you are alive only be possible by replacing your past self with one's future self who is then stuck in that time period; I leave it to my future self for judgement keeping in mind my future age, how many years I may miss in the process against the possible need of my family and how I could help them with cures and/or the world with other such information that I, specifically, would be better suited to provide. If I choose not to take that risk I will once again; try to find someone to go in my steed
b) Should time travel only be available if the future person is then STUCK in that past time they pick; (but with both versions existing without endangering life and all exisitence) then I leave it to my future self to weigh the options and whether it would be worthwhile and good to go back or if the future is more important to remain in than the past more important to affect; keeping in mind once again, the possible good going back could achieve. If I do choose to go back and stay there; I promise to prepare myself as much as possible before going with whatever I may need or whatever information I may give.
2) Should time travel be not incapable for someone in my condition (whatever that may be) I shall once again; strive to seek someone out to go in my steed, and have them contact Sarah with whatever information/technology I feel necessary and best, and have them bring a message/book/etc. with whatever directions, technology etc. with whatever I want to say.
3) Should time travel only be available to me personally once in my life, (either through expense and/or safety) I promise to make it for the date May 7th, 2005 at 8-10pm. if I feel it would be best suited to help my past, my future, my family and the world.
4) Should I die before time travel becomes readily available; I hereby request that (as I will also put in my will should I be unable to accomplish my goal) someone go back in time to help myself, my family, those I know, and the world with all the aforementioned information/technology and everything and specifically seek out Sarah Rich with any specifics that I personally leave behind to pass on or just let her know that I sent them and I send her my best wishes etc.
I hereby also swear that I will not take credit for inventions and things I haven't done and I will give all the proper credit to those who deserve it, as well as doing my best to enforce this in others if by necessary, getting a copy of a book of patents to prove it.
