McGurke is a coach on Home Movies (a cartoon show on Adult Swim, Sunday nights @11) which I primarily watch because it's made by a Boston (technically Watertown) based company that does a lot of conferences with Boston University. And the reason I feel like him is because at one point (on the commercials for the show) he talks about liking one part of his day and then hating everything else. His example, he'd wake up and enjoy his omelette but then he'd hate whatever was on the TV or in the newspaper. And then he'd go outside and enjoy that it was a nice day but realize that he hated his neighborhood. And right now I can relate to that general sentiment.

So to describe my day in a very McGurke way. I woke up and it was cloudy and drizzly -- which I love. But I woke up because my Mom was looking for the thermometer and trying to drag Pat out of bed so it was 6 in the morning. Still, it was cloudy/drizzly so darker than usual which made it SLIGHTLY easier to get back to sleep, which I needed to do. But at the same time I was loving my blanket and pillow, my legs were really really sore from PT pool therapy. (ARGH) Later I got up to go with my Mom on errands and stuff (and to Pat's Dr. appointment so that I could make an appointment with my doctor who works at the same office.) And again I was enjoying the drizzly weather but disliking my migraine from the weather. So then at the Dr.'s office, I was looking for Time Magazine (I like Time) but all their copies of the past 4 months (I did mention that I have my own Dr. there) had disappeared. Which was upsetting, but at the same time I'd brought my play so I began outlining the blocking and placement of furniture. Which was fun until after 2 hours and 7 pages of notes later when my discman batteries died and I got writer's cramp (and slightly bored.)

So then both my brother and I were starving (I skipped breakfast and he's always hungry) so originally we were going to go to KFC but because it's Lent we ended up at Pizza Hut. And I liked my Sierra Mist and sort of liked my breadsticks but my brother and Mom had opted for thick crust pizza which was a lot more yeasty then regularly and I've got a slight allergy to yeast. So that wasn't cool. And then my brother was whining about he didn't really like the pizza either. Which wasn't cool at all. So we ended up bringing home like 4/5 of the pizza. But before we went home my Mom had to submit applications to the Y, which I helped her fill out so I got $10 for it. (all towards InuYasha dvds) But at the same time the place we had to drop it off at had the kind of florescent lights that were giving me a migraine. So we got home and it turns out Laura wanted to go hang out in Framingham with her friend. Which sparked this thing about me going to see Hidalgo (it opened tonight) and possibly getting another IY dvd at the mall. (I'm not kidding about almost all my money going to Inuyasha dvds.) So we drove out there and I enjoyed the ride (because I love car-rides) but there was traffic and nothing good on the radio for a good 20 minutes. So we got to Trader Joe's (it's on Rt. 9 so they made it a meeting place) but we were early so I went into Staples to try to find a calendar planner so that I can keep track of all my Dr.'s appointments and play rehearsals. Except Laura came with me (which was annoying) and the only planners they had were for 2 years and nearly $5 but I'm sure I can find a cheaper planner somewhere... So then we met Laura's friend (and Laura's friend's family) and she has very short spikey hair. Which is way cool, except that it wasn't dyed. (Why spike your hair if you don't bother dying the tips a different color than the rest??? I mean come on!) Anyways so her friend is kind of cool, for a Perkin's kid except that she was wearing perfume and that kind of made me sick too.

So then we dropped off Laura and her friend and went to the AMC movie theater in Framingham to buy our tickets for Hidalgo ahead of time. Which was cool because it was Hidalgo but not so cool because 1) it wasn't Regal cinema so it actually required money not ticket things and 2) it wasn't stadium seating which is like.... so not cool. But on the bright side during the movie I could actually read all the subtitles, which I usually can't do because I need glasses. But anyhow, before we went to the movie we went to the mall so I could get my dvd from Suncoast. So we found a relatively close parking spot there (but only had 20 minutes to buy the movie and get back) but it required going through Filene's which meant lots of perfume. So then we were speed-walking down the mall which was cool-ish because I was going to get my dvd but at the same time REALLY made my legs hurt again (remember this morning) and my feet got sore remarkably quickly, which only reminded me that my chronic fatigue is getting worse and I need to be on anti-depressants but more on that later. So then we (still being just my Mom and I, we do a lot of stuff together) accidentally completely passed Suncoast video because we saw a store that sells bean bag chairs that happened to have a giant screen tv with an Orlando Bloom movie on.... (I think it was PotC but it was hard to tell) which kind of distracted both of us... *blush* But then I found my dvd so it was all good. Except that we were REALLY running out of time and my legs hurt. So then we hurried back to the movie theater, tried to find a parking spot and what do you know? My Mom locked her keys in the car.

Which was survivable as she has AAA so we decided to deal with it afterwards and rushed into the watch the movie. Which was good except that it wasn't stadium seating, (which bugs me to no end, I'm so spoiled) it was sold out so it was hard to find decent seats, and there were little kids behind me who talked for a lot of the beginning. -- By the way, I really wouldn't reccommend taking little kids to see this movie, it's a little.... gorey, though not nearly so bad as the Passion I'm sure. Is it just me or all horse movies kind of violent, sad, and depressing??? At least this one had a killer happy ending, especially as it's a true story :-D So then after the movie we had to call AAA to come unlock the door.

Hey that reminds me, I'm taking a time out here to explain why I was so "calm" about my Mom locking the keys in the car. She's done it so many times before. And her ADHD gets worse when she's stressed out and she was worried about not finding seats for the movie so she dropped her keys in the car and didn't realize till she'd shut the door. At least it was better than when she'd do it when I was little. Those times used to drive me mad. My Mom is not the most... organized of people.

So I was ok for a little while because we were able to grab seats at their food-court kind of thing and watch previews for movies. And I love previews. Downside; lots of people who kept talking. So after about 30 minutes they were late but we expected it. After another 15 minutes I'd seen all the previews and actually seen them enough times so that I'd been able to hear what they were saying. After another 25 minutes the previews were slowly ticking me off. Espeically this one about a WW2 pilot fighting a bunch of futuristic robots... I mean what the hey? And where was that Troy preview?! Now that one I could have lived with seeing 10 or 20 times... Greek mythology, Brad Pitt AND Orlando Bloom.... I'm all about that :) And why haven't I seen any previews for Ella Enchanted yet? It makes me sad. Anyhow, it was now 11:30 and I was getting hungry. So I got an Icee. But the food-grill thing closed down and I didn't want popcorn or candy so I got really hungry with only an Icee. But the Icee was nice, even though the previews except for Hellboy and Garfield were offically bugging me. That and that they kept saying it was only going to be another 10 or 20 minutes (they'd call us back every so often to check up) but dude... we were waiting 2 hours.

Oh well. So I had this major Yin-Yang thing going on today (good = bad) But all's well that ends well as they say. Besides, I did get to see Hidalgo (very good movie) and I got another Inuyasha dvd (which leaves 7 more if you count volume 15.) And I know about a whole bunch of movies coming to theaters sometime before May. Oh except that I still need to go get a planner. And at some point finish my outlining of my play.... But whatever. Hmmmm I should go watch Daredevil maybe. But at the same time, I have this strange feeling there was something else I was supposed to be doing. Oh well. I'll think of it in the morning. I'm too tired and lethargic now.
